General Gala Information

All our galas run under FINA Technical Rules and Swim Wales Laws.

Waterworld has a 25 metre, six lane, deck level pool with a large changing village. In 2018 we took delivery of new diving blocks  which have adjustable footrests and backstroke start wedges.

We operate Colorado Timing Equipment and have and LED scoreboard.

We can accept entries electronically using Hy-Tek Meet Manager or manually.

Entry Fees for each event are generally £6.50 for an electronic entry of £7 for a manual event entry.

All Gala Entries are on a FIRST RECEIVED FIRST ENTERED basis, apart from our 2-day Spring Meet. Please note that our Crystal Meet and Cath Ankers Meet fill up extremely quickly.

We use the Meet Mobile App for all our galas and results will be posted throughout the day. Please note that all gala events are HDW (Heat Declared Winner)

Gala Officials

In order to be able to run successful Meets we need Visiting Clubs to provide officials. For those Clubs entering our Meet with between 5 and 9 swimmers, we are requesting that Club's provide a minimum of 1 official (J1 standard or above) per session, whilst those Clubs entering with more than 10 swimmers are requested to provide a minimum of 2 qualified officials (J1 standard or above) per session.

We will provide parking refunds, a donation towards lunch and a small gift at the end of the day for any officials helping with 2 or more sessions. Plus, if Club's do meet the minimum requirements in respect to the provision of officials (as outlined above), Club's will be reimbursed the cost of the coaches passes that have been purchased following the Meet.

Please note that we use Swim Meet to help organise officials for our Galas. Swim Meet allows officials to tell us what session they are available for, put in any special requests e.g. specific jobs etc. and if for whatever reason officials become unable or wish to change the session there are officiating in, they can simply go back to the link and make the change. By using Swim Meet it makes the process much clearer and easier for everyone involved.
